We have learned how to get more food out of the ground than any civilization before us. And it's been done principally through genetic improvement and high input agriculture."

Well said Peter - a lot of us up here in Ontario are battling the same type of mindset who are harassing our inept government into banning neomics - if they have their way the farmers will have to go back to the heavy spraying of pesticides and the damage to bees will be a fact instead of a myth.
