I suggest buying Dr. Diana Sammantaro's new book, The Beekeepers Handbook,
from the A. I. Root Co, Medina, Ohio or e-mail: [log in to unmask] for
$29.95.
It is one of the best beginners books ever written; and with the mites,
viruses, and "killer bees" that have "come on the scene" in the last 14 years,
most books are out of date unless written recently, and many beekeepers have
not kept up with the changes necessary to "keep" bees in 1998.

Good Luck
