Is there a solution for shrews?

Karen Kimball

A number of beeks in this area use 1/2 " hardware cloth. Cut about 4" wide
and as long as hive entrance. Bend lengthwise in center into a 'V' shape and
force into the hive entrance. Leave enough exposed to grasp for removal at
will. We leave these in all year, cuts down on robbing as well. Do to the
angle of the bend at entrance mice/shrews can not enter, simple and
effective.
