<As you and Peter suggest, no-one has carried out a robust analysis of the
bees that die some meters/miles from the nest, as appealing as that would be.

What do you think, can indoor wintering buildings help in this ?

Some of my bees are inside for about 5-6 months ( November-April) During this
time a lot of bees come out to die. And there is big differences on the amount
of dead bees berween the hives. As the temperature is around 0 -+6 C bees don't
die on the bottom but they go out.. I do understand that this is not exactly
the same as collecting dead bees when to colonies are out, but how do you see
it. Could it be worth trying ?

Should be quite easy to separate some hives with big mosquito nets to collect
bees from specisfic hives.
