 doubt varroa would release under water and it seems so above but submerging 
a package in water is one of the oldest methods for introducing a package to 
a hive around the world. Rarely practiced in the U.S..
But in my opinion works better than most other methods in use in the 
U.S.*if* the weather is warm and bees can fly *and* you are installing in 
daylight.

Prevents drift and the bees simply pour into the hive. The beekeeper getting 
water on his clothes is an issue.

This was the recommended method by Browns Bees Australia we received with 
the first package shipment.  However we did as we always did and released 
that night the packages.

Later i tried the water method with great success. You keep the package in 
the pail only long enough to soak the bees.

Surely on a worldwide list others are familiar with the method?
