Here's info on the local beekeepers association I belong to:
 
Mount Diablo Beekeepers Association

Contact person:  Steve Gentry, Vice President, 510-254-8063.
 
Annual dues:  $10
 
Monthly meetings:  January - October
 
As they are always looking for new members, I'm sure they won't mind this
