Hi,
        Yes, I have seen more drones this time of  year than any time I
can recall in ther past 20 (my experience in beekeeping). I suspect it
relates to the streingth and surplus in the colony. I do see dead drones
at the entrance on a weekkly basis so the are still reducing the
population. I am providing no extra provisions. This beekeeping is a new
venture every year in one way or another.
