Okay, so you're the only one who really answered my question.  Everyone else seemed to get side-tracked in a personal discussion.  So my question now becomes, as more swarms seem to emerge during a waxing moon, when do we start grafting?  If the complete moon cycle is 28 days, and a queen needs 16 days from egg to emergence, it would seem we should be grafting during the waning moon phase in order to emerge during the waxing phase.
 
But this also presupposes a queen emerging during the waxing phase is superior to a queen emerging during the waning phase.
