County is buzzily bucking the trend

Nationally, the British Beekeepers' Association has warned honey prices are
likely to rise by up to 50p per 340g pot because bee colonies have been
prevented from foraging for food because of heavy summer downpours.

The association's chairman, Martin Smith, told The Grocer magazine the
impact of successive drenched summers with cool temperatures had hit the
industry.

He said: "Lots of keepers are focusing on rebuilding their stocks of bees
rather than producing large honey volumes."
