Ted,

I have no experience with eliminating mouse access, such as you are trying to
do.  But, it occurs to me that a hinge which could be easily removed during
market hours would eliminate mouse presence and leave customer access
unhindered.  I doubt that there is significant mouse presence during the time
people are around.
