Hi everyone

I am revisiting varroa knowledge for a teaching on making and using
monoxalate strips. What's the point on having a new weapon if you still do
not know what you are shooting at or how to use it?. The 4th Element;
varroa in the Hive.

On this varroa study trip I notice this graph
http://www.veto-pharma.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/lutte_contre_varroa_population_EN.jpg
with a warning "! Mass transfer of parasitism from male brood to the worker
brood of winter bees". That for end of summer during harvest time.

And I agree, the end of drone brood season means a certain amount of varroa
obligued to reproduce in worker's brood. How much pressure? For sure a
slower reproduction rate for varroa 2.5 --> 1.5 or less.

But what happens with adults drones? Do varroa ride adult drones? Do the
end of adult drones mean "an increase" in varroa load with economic impact?
Are the varroa models considering this?

Could this be part of the autumn reinfestation we all notice? I mean drone
population could be upto 20% of total population.

BTW no mention to adult drones in "Population growth of *Varroa
destructor*(Acari:
Varroidae) in honey bee colonies is affected by the number of foragers with
mites".

Note: This Veto-Pharm have this easyCheck tool

me 10 please !!!!
