shown any sign of that in my experience, and I have never heard any reports

molding is common if the patties are made with water. I never use water for
patties although many recipes say water can be used.

I use sucrose but in my opinion honey actually works better but syrup is
easy as we pump the syrup into the mixer as needed. I have never had a patty
made with syrup or honey mold.

I am not really into pouring bags of expensive pollen sub (megabee) out on
the ground. Rain? morning dew?

I once heard a commercial beekeeper tell a newbee the way to prevent
swarming once queen cells were spotted was to turn the hive upside down for
a week. He said the queen cells would not hatch upside down.

I grinned and walked on at the meeting.

Not something I would try but maybe based in science.
