Once again a sad picture of monoculture in action as the photo shows not a  
single plant other than sugar cane.  Probably rain forest would have been  
demolished to create the cane plantation.
 
Once upon a time the advice was that one should live as if you were going  
to die tomorrow and farm as if you were going to live for ever. The modern  
monocultural farmer seems not to be able to see beyond the next bank  
statement!
