Parasite: take away the host and the parasite dies.  Regarding SHB, honey
bee colonies aren't requisite for SHB survival.  In fact, my recollection is
SHB was first established in the US in South Carolina in imported fruit, not
honey bee colonies.  Hence pest, not parasite.
