We have been into bees for 2 seasons.  We started out with all new equipment 
package bees the first year and nucs the second year.  Rough guess is 300 
dollars per hive.  We are not planning on expanding, but if we have a good 
winter next year would lets us triple the number of hives with only 
additional cost being woodenware and frames.
