Bill Lord said, in part, " large Dakota beekeeper whose
mite control strategy is to requeen everything"

I have no doubt this would work as an effective mite control. But...how in
the world does one find all the old queens? I can see the possibility for
12-20 hives, but that does not fit "large Dakota beekeeper". With just
~200 hives I cannot imagine finding the queens in the spring, let alone the
summer? Anyone have any ideas how to do that efficiently, which means in
under 10 minutes per? At 10 minutes a hive, even that is 33 hours of
effort, plus driving time to 8 yards! At 15 minutes each, that is 50
hours, plus driving!

I can't even imagine 2,000 hives...even with unlimited hired labor.

Ideas?

Lloyd
