Hi Charles et al:

I have been using a gas powered weed eater for the past three years, a
replacement for an antique scythe which I like better but needs more energy
than I now possess. Neither tool bothers my bees at all. On the other hand
they go berserk when I use a long handled scissor type grass trimmer. I
imagine the totally silent ( to me ) hand shear makes a high pitched sound
that they take exception to.

Best regards,

Donald Aitken
