Hello Allen & All,

Let me refer to a discussion here on BEE-L back on Fri, 1 Dec 2000
12:25:46 -0700, archived at
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/academic/agriculture/entomology/beekeeping/bee-l/log0012a.txt

Wow! Going back reading those posts was a walk down memory lane for sure.
When I came on BEE-L I went back to the start and read all the posts. I
think doing so helped me not get drawn into discussions in which both sides
had strong opinions in those days.

How could we ever forget Robert Mann. (R.) or Blaine White. I really missed
Blaine when he went away.
Blaine added the bee inspector side of things.

I was surprised the number of people which were posting ten years ago are
still on the list today.

Dennis Murrel always provided unusual insight into ways to keep bees. Dennis
and I came from similar commercial beekeeping backgrounds. Dennis almost
became a beekeeping guru on another list but then quit posting on either
list. Sold his bees and moved to Florida. Dennis & I both have a passion for
fishing so maybe one day when I am sitting on my upside down 5 gallon honey
bucket fishing in the surf in Florida the fishermen next to me will hold out
his hand and say his name is Dennis Murrel.

I gassed the vehicle today and filled the propane tank. Loaded the rods
yesterday. I like the young fishermen. Rusted out trucks & ball caps. Always
polite and helpful. Call the old timers Mister and Sir.
They like to hear the fish stories of big catches and the ones which broke
the line or I caught and released.

I am glad the date Allen pulled up did not contain FGMO discussion. The list
was strongly opinionated on both sides of the issue and Dr. Pedro was caught
in the middle.
 Thanks for the post Allen!
bob
