Andrew Dewey asks about bear fences.  There is plenty in the bee-l archives

There used to be a great video at Jerry Bromenshenk's site (Bee Alert), but
I can't seem to find it now,  Has it moved Jerry?

Good luck with your bear problem.  Unfortunately, the best way to deter
bears is to erect the fence before round one.
