For me the ideal height is the distance from my knuckles to the floor.
Measure this distance, subtract the height of your complete hive (bottom
board, brood boxes, inner cover, and top), and what's left over should be
the finished height of your stand.

Now with that said, I'll tell you the *real* ideal height. It's
xldre(&^%$,!   I find this works best for me.
