A new beekeeper I help out sometimes flies helicopters for a living.  So far he's not responded to my hints that we could move bees to some really isolated heather sites if he could borrow one of his machines for an hour or so.  However the others are a retired doctor, a senior banker and a food equipment engineer.  The medical link seems strong, with several local beekeepers having a medical training.  Scientists too - at one time 6 of my plant science work colleagues kept bees.  Seems less impressive when expressed as 2% of the workforce however.
