Over the years I have tried lots of smoker fuels but have decided I
prefer untreated baler twine. I wrap it around my fingers several turns
then wind the loose end aound the turns. Fits the smoker neatly with a
chimney in the center. Place two or three of these in the smoker. Drop
a lighted piece of paper in the center and off you go.

If I wore gloves I would not close the smoker until my gloves were on.
Less chance for the smoker to go out for lack of puffing.

About cleaning wet supers. If you are concerned about the spread of
disease, do you make sure that you put the same supers on the hives on
which they were previously used.
