I think your safest bet is to use the screen cone in this case. I would not
recommend using the water method, suppose you had to inject many gallons and
somewhere a leek sprung and water damage occurred?
    I find that expandable foam works very well to inject into trapped out
cavities or in some cases where the nest has been removed, depending in the
cavity size. I like to recommend that the owner, have the cavity filled with
insulation when possible, this almost assures against reinfestation from an
undiscovered possible entrance.
