I posted a message some time ago related to making foundation. I
appreciate the respose I got very much.

I seem to be able to get the thin sheets of wax that I need by dipping a
piece of glasss into melted wax. One dip gives the desired thickness if
the wax is only a little above melting temperature.

I put the glass in ice water before dipping, dip it, then put it back in
the ice for chilling. I can then usually get the sheet to separate from
the glass. It would seem to work better if I dipped the glass into some
solution that would aid the release of the wax sheet from the glass. I'm
thinking about trying a weak solution of soap or perhaps a dishwashing
detergent. I'm a little concerned about trying any type of silicone
release agent.

If any of you have found a good release agent, I'd like to hear from
you. Perhaps a hardwood board soaked in water would be a better choice
than glass. I know that I'd be able to get a good release then!

Many thanks for your viewpoints and experience.

Cordially,

Jim
