I don’t know; every time I see a guy on a racing bike passing me by in the summertime his shirt is always whipped up. As a boy, I remember getting headaches from a few trips at a back of open trucks. And there’s a reason why the backs of any truck are sprayed with water when it rains. There’s something about aerodynamics of creates a vortex in the back - nature abhors vacuum, so the air has to fill the void created by a passing truck and suck in back some of the CO exciting from the tailpipe.

You also should check with the truck manufacturer/renter, whether they allow this. We’re not talking about a trip around the block, but a cross-state trip under load. These things are designed to be driven with doors locked to give them structural integrity.
