We participated in the trials of MAQS in Hawaii in 2009 on Oahu with the University of Hawaii Manoa and used it as our primary treatment in 2010. There's a short writeup by UH Manoa on the web
and I believe that a full report is to be released shortly.

We've found it to be effective, although the bees do not remove the patties from the hive - perhaps this is because we're not using any kind of spacer.

For Hawaii, where we can pretty much make honey year around, not having to pull supers is great. The short treatment period is a benefit and we've not seen any adverse effects on brood or bees.

With the coming of the Small Hive Beetle, we're glad that once again we can use MAQS!
