Why is it with males that we like to discuss our most painful moments with
others but in great humor? I love to recount every bizzare sting to other
beekeepers, along other funny things that happened to me (which were only
humorous in hindsight).

My sting was a classic "do as I say not as I do" moment when inspecting a
colony on an overcast day, a no-no unless you are prepared to have the bees
take an interest in you. No smoke and a loose veil, I bent over the colony,
the bottom of the veil was not tied so it opened like a funnel and every
bee that came up was directed right to my face. It was the first and only
time I had swelling from stings and I looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
