Logic suggests that the OMB is probably usefull in varroa control
when used in conjunction with 'soft'treatments that knock down a lot of
mites but dont neccessarily kill them(formic,essential oils,tobacco smoke,
other smoke from grapefruit leaves,tansy,or creosote bush.Camel dung,Dead sea
salt,ash from Mt. St.Helens-OK sorry,got carried away)But if nothing else the
OMB seems like a good way to monitor mite levels and increase hot weather
ventilation.
