 That may be so - but in Europe 5,4 and 5,5 are quite normal and even 5,7.  The range of size that our bees will accept is probably 4,8-5,7.  When left to themselves they will build cells within this range, even the so called ''downsized'' bees that were born on 4,9.  Have a look at Dave Cushman's website for a good overview of the different sizes available around the world.
