The effect on mites may be similar to the effect on the human respiratory
system. I had an unpleasant incident when first starting OA vaporisation - I
breathed in a tiny whiff of the vapour and coughed violently and was unable
to breathe for a few seconds. It may be the vapour that does in the mites
via the respiratory system rather than the crystals that are deposited on
the contents of the hive.

Best regards,

Donald Aitken
