Assuming we are going to allow much more ventilation in the hive for the
winter, top or bottom, it's going to have to be a mesh, too small to allow
bees through, just to keep out the robbing wasps.

    OK, so how do we stop the propolising little sods bunging up the mesh
and sealing it against the draughts?  They've done it with our roof vents
before now, and the mouse guards!
