I liked CC Miller's Fifty Years Among the Bees.Gives a back ground to the basics especially nuc box design. ie extra space in the bottom for bee to cluster. setting bees up for comb honey production. Works when you have only one quick crop.
 and because we have just about the same in weather and pasture, R O B Manley Honey Farming.  Basically the only book that gives a background to commercial beekeeping. Old ideas like introducing queen into laying cages give a 90% success rate
I learnt a lot by reading the American Bee Journal in the 1980's.  It was full of interesting stuff that was easily adapted to ones beekeeping.
