I too, who never knew Andy, except for his wonderful letters, will sadly mis
his wit and wisdom. Is there someone out there who saved them all? They
might make a wonderful book....especially if we had the original letters to
which he responded. He might have been right, or he might have been wrong,
but he was never in doubt and he was never boring! I am only sorry now that I
did not write him and thank him for his levity and knowledge. As a writer, I
can vouch for the fact that he was a superb wordsmith, whether he aimed to be
that or not. The world of bees is a sadder place for his passing.
