There's a new bee book out. I don't know if it's factually correct,
but it's getting good reviews:
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/25/books/review/the-bees-by-laline-paull.html?module=Search&mabReward=relbias%3Aw%2C%7B%221%22%3A%22RI%3A8%22%7D&_r=0
http://www.amazon.com/The-Bees-Novel-Laline-Paull/dp/0062331159/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404332416&sr=8-1&keywords=bees

On the upside, it's a way to get your reader/non-outdoors friends
interested in beekeeping. On the downside, well, it's probably
anthropomorphizing (to take an animal and describe its behavior as if
it were human) bees and probably misses some bee biology but that's
just a guess - don't want anybody getting their expectations too high.
From my brief skimming it looks like she does get quite a bit of the
bee biology right.

Best,
Blair
