Personally I really like the grooved end bar frames sold by Kelley.  I use wax coated plastic foundation in them (have to install the foundation before adding the final top or bottom bar during construction).  But, you don't have to worry about blown foundation even during the first year of extraction.  The combination is very durable and if glued and nailed handle a lot of abuse.
