No, I couldn't save the comb or the brood, which was a shame. I had no
way to open the barrel up without destroying it. That was the whole
problem. I was trying to keep the barrel in tact. That's why if there
was just one hole for the bees to go in and out, the best way would have
been to put the "one-way bee gate" at the entrance/exit and wait for
them to move.
