hi fellow kiwi beekeepers,

isn't this weather (akl) bloody awful for the bees! too much wind & rain.

the numbers in my hive have increased a lot, and there's heaps more
larvae coming on stream... but it looks like i've been saved the hassle of
feeding. they're starting to fill up the comb with nectar, and draw out the
two new frames i put in the upper brood chamber. thanx for all your help on
that one guys.

hopefully i'll start supering up in a couple of weeks.

meanwhile, i've noticed there are always blowflies (4 - 6) hanging around the
hive entrance. is this healthy? r they good garbage disposers or can they
potentially do damage? i'd hate to think they were laying eggs in the brood
cells!?!? any ideas on this one...?
