> Its not just drones, some also use queens that are similarly addicted to medication. I think we could cover the whole position by saying: specialist breeders need to attend to general health traits, particularly varroa tolerance, and plain keepers (who are also breeders whether they realise it or not) need to maintain health by selective multiplication... This approach makes treatments unnecessary, and prevents the development of the 'addiction' that we see all over now.

While the above statement of opinion presented as fact may be possibly true somewhere, sometime, it is demonstraby false as presented.

We are again wandering into wide, sweeping statements, buzz words and enunciation of opinion which, in attempting to summarize, grossly oversimplify the questions and polarize discussion, leading inevitably to unfocused argument or end of discussion.

While rhetoric can be fun, and we like fun, BEE-L attempts to be a fact-based disussion with no allegance to any position except to the underlying principles of good science and to fact. (Good facts are hard to find, and seldom sound as convincing as opinion).

I realize that providing fact is much more difficult than providing opinion, and it is for that reason I so much appreciate those who do examine details and share regularly the results of their digging, sometimes to a less than appreciative reception.

This interjection is not aimed at anyone in particular, since we all get pretty general and opinionated sometimes, and I am as guilty as any, but I have noticed that the list hums along better when we stick to discussing fact and remaining somewhat sceptical about pretty much everything and especially universal solutions and panaceas.
