I can't take this comment seriously.
Many of the most important advances in beekeeping knowledge and  
practice have come from beekeepers with very few hives. They just  
happen to be very intelligent and observant - and let's face it - one  
of them was even blind and had to use his helpers eyes for his research.

It's easy to handle thousands of hives  and learn nothing -  many  
people do not learn from their experiences and keep on making the same  
mistakes.
