Problems with Acarine seem to be limited to the US and Canada these days as far as I can see; I know of no-one here who even checks for it any longer - it is just not a problem.  So while this study might suggest that there is something special about the Buckfast bee, I suspect that most of the races in Europe would have given the same result.

Why do you have this problem?
