Peter, I don't have time right now to dig up, but look for work by Martha
Gilliam and Robert J. Argauer.  My recollection is that they found patty
feeding to be more effective, not less!*

*Re tylosin--the reason for dusting is that the active ingredient is so dang
stable, that you don't want it to be stored as syrup, which might then get
into the honey.
