    George Imire also found this and set up a method of winter stores
management that reduces the amount of fall honey, which is usually high ash.
  Also, another of George's radical ideas was that bees prefer sugar water feed to honey year round since it is closer in composition to natural nectar.  Of course, he knew that a strong flow from a good nectar source trumped all feed and the feeding of sugar water should be done when the hive can tolerate the introduced moisture.
