Hi Doug

I have a bag of cull tobacco leaf in my bee shed that I use seldom
but have never seen it fail to get a mean hive calm when put into the
smoker. Part of a cheap cigar would also likely work. Don't breath
the smoke yourself as it's pretty deadly. Put in a sticky board, use
a small amount of tobacco smoke on any hive, then check the sticky
board a few minutes later. If you have varroa, there will be lots on
the sticky board.
