     I have used Pierco frames in some hives exclusivly with great success.
I never tried using sugar syrup on them. I think the most important thing
with Pierco frames or foundation is how it is stored. If it is fresh You can
smell the beeswax coating, if it has been sitting in an open box in a
warehouse for a year then it will lose the smell of fresh beeswax. I applied
melted beeswax on stale smelling Pierco frames with a foam brush, it worked
really well. You don't have to coat the whole frame, mainly the top area. I
am buying only Pierco frames now, I have had My fun nailing frames together
and like the simplicity of taking the frames out of the box and putting them
right into the super. Good luck.
