Can you elaborate on the, Jerry?  Does that concern relate  mainly to 
toxicity trials, or do have concerns about the effects on working  colonies?
 
I don't know whether it would adversely affect working colonies, but  it 
can mess up research studies.
 
I wouldn't use it, but that's because I'd rather err on the  conservative 
side.  Might be fine, but I'd try it on a SMALL number of  colonies, if at 
all.
