The winter/summer categorization of mortality for stingless bees, and for honey bees in tropical regions would appear to be of little value. In tropical regions, with fairly similar temperatures year round, more important weather components are rainy vs. dry seasons. Many of the authors of this manuscript live in the tropics and it is hard to believe that they would let this important factor slide through. Unless authors do not read their papers anymore. It would fit with the current trend of lack of attention to details and the fine print by reviewers and editors.
