In all the discourse that currently is occurring I'm wondering how much listening is actually being done.  Instead of listening to the full statement it seems to me that the listener listens long enough to determine the subject of the discussion and then stops listening and starts formulating a rebuttal from their previously conceived bias.  I find this to be mostly true on TV with discussion programs
