Swarms are picking up in Southeast Missouri, about three weeks later than "normal"...whatever normal is.  My strawberry grower says we were two weeks ahead of schedule last year, and we're two weeks behind this year making the difference between two years at a month.  It seems like more than that and the calendar is only a source of frustration.

Swarm calls are fewer this year, to date, but swarm traps have been very productive, even more than last year.  My own hives have not dealt with swarming issues, mainly because they were so light on any stores.

And thankfully, since we are two weeks behind schedule, I'm about on time with all my work!  Each year seems to stand on its own merit, and comparisons only seem to confuse me.
