As an independent 3rd party (researcher), I sometimes get a more honest answer to questions like these.  We hear that there is a pressing need for alternative treatments for varroa, since many report that amitraz is no longer effective (in their opinion).   This opinion is  so strongly held by some beekeepers that they have contracted studies to search for other treatment options - that's a factual statement, not opinion.
