I'd be careful about assuming sky high honey super spore counts means that  
these spores are infective.
 
Dr. Cramer, who is working on Nosema, has found that these spores are heat  
sensitive, easily killed with 10% bleach solution, and more recently, that  
freezing for a short term (days), and refrigeration for long periods  
(weeks) all tend to greatly diminish spore viability.  For  an organism that can 
proliferate as fast as it does, its surprises me how hard  it is to keep 
viable spores around for testing.
